You should send this to all the birders in the world – especially to homesick Middle Western ones who find themselves surrounded by shore birds who wouldn’t FIT on a window ledge. … Blue Jays really are beastly, aren’t they… but a Big Red Bird just looks tough, and smart, and utterly in charge of the food and the ledge. The last segment with the other birds just glimpsed to the right of Red is very funny – they don’t seem to appreciate what they are up against. Only a person who suffers from allergies or who has read too many I Can Has Cheezburgers can talk about driving a cat crazy in a “good way”. … Life with birds is a good thing: these little snippets of joy are charming – they land on the viewer like little gifts. You have a good eye matched by your grin and a healthy dose of whimsy. (The above comments are not in any way biased by our relationship.) Love, love, love Your Mother
